This family believes they don't own their home; they are merely its caretakers. When their home -- whose name is SunBee -- told them it was time for a new kitchen, it asked for a major remodel. The original kitchen was too small and had hardly any counter space. The home had a family room and a living room that were within ear shot of one another so they seemed redundant.
Mary Mendenhall, CID of Mary Mendenhall Interiors knew that the solution involved relocation. She moved the kitchen to the former family room and the old kitchen became the new dining zone. The former dining space could then comfortably house the musical instruments. Once it was all opened, SunBee's casual elegance began to emerge.
White painted cabinets with a sandy glaze keep the space light while Black Cosmos granite adds the dramatic touch. Marble tile in a rhomboid-pattern creates a tasteful backsplash while glass pendant lights add a finishing touch. SunBee is now ready for its caretakers to enjoy many more years to come.
